Sunday at 3 pm, First Congregational will meet at St. Michael’s Episcopal, 1601 W. Imhoff Road.  Rev. Robin R. Meyers’ sermon will be “Was Johnny Cash Woke?” from Matthew 5:1-11. The sermon theme is from the lyrics of a song written to explain why Cash always wore black and what message he was sending.  It was a protest song written after Cash spoke with students from Vanderbilt University in 1971 protesting poverty, mass incarceration, and the Vietnam War. Music will be provided by Mary Sallee, pianist and Kiegan Ryan, cellist. Kyle Gregory will serve as liturgist. Attend in person or watch on YouTube via the website, normanucc.org.
