Separation of Church & State-October issue of the month

The American principle of Separation of Church and State, born from the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause, ensures that the government remains neutral in matters of religious belief while protecting individuals’ rights to practice their faith freely. This separation serves dual purposes: it protects religious institutions from government overreach while preventing any religion from controlling state policy. Today, Christian Nationalism threatens both this delicate balance and individual freedom, statewide and locally, by promoting its beliefs through school curriculum, legislations and social pressure to conform. We believe this separation is vital for both institutions.
